In seeking to raise the profile of republicanism across the Suffolk Coastal region we operate a diverse and wide-ranging programme of activities which include:
- running a proactive media campaign to ensure that our message reaches the widest possible audience;
- responding to stories in the local print, broadcast and online media to make a robust case for an elected head of state;
- lobbying local MPs, councillors and community leaders to promote the case for a constitutional republic;
- providing speakers for events at schools, community groups and other local organisations;
- empowering local citizens to get their republican views heard;
- participating in the campaigns and initiatives of Republic, our parent organisation.
Some our specific aims include:
- exposing pro-monarchy bias and misrepresentation in the local media;
- uncovering the hidden influence of unelected representatives of the monarch in Suffolk Coastal’s local communities;
- revealing the hidden costs of the monarchy to local people.
